About The Movie Ip Man is adapted from the life story of Ip Man, the grand master of the Wing Chun style kungfu and sifu (master) of legendary kung fu superstar Bruce Lee. Wing Chun has a history of more than 200 years. It was founded by Yim Wing-chin, took root in the hands of Leung Chun, and prospered with Ip Man. The art of Wing Chun has now become very popular with martial arts enthusiasts, especially overseas. It is a traditional Chinese martial art with a formidable reputation internationally. Wing Chun Chuan is characterized by close body combat, requiring practitioners to show speed and power. Its Chi Sao of sticking hands is more similar to modern day combat skills and has a rich feel of genuine strikes. This is also why Ip Man differs from the dazzlingly romantic and purely fictional style of previous martial art movies. Its explosive punches and aggressive close-range combat offer a new thrill never experienced by modern day audiences. The story of Wing Chun began in the 1920s and 30s, in wartorn China. Ip Man was martial arts unyielding follower, devoted whole-heartedly to the free learning of wushu. The fight to be top between the Wushu schools in the southern and northern regions of China had not stopped him having goodwill matches with other practitioners. Nationalistic bad feelings and racial hatred had not lessened his respect for Japanese martial arts warriors. In this great era of hatreds and tragedies, Ip focused only on wushu. His enthusiasm for …

I love it! I would recommend it to all. it is fantastic movie. Can’t wait for the next on kÖÖkica. I would recommend it to everyone who likes romantic movies!
who cares, bottom line awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review- EPIC!! EPIC!!!
Probably{if not the best} one of the best martial arts movies i have ever seen!!!
it was “ipman” or “IP man”??
i was confused to pronounce it. -.-
spectacular! amazing! surprising! Omg, I don’t know how to describe this. This is the first film I really enjoyed from the beginning til the end. It’s superior…I like ending so much.. it feels like it comes from nowhere. You must see this. But you really do…go on kÖÖkica .
@divagirlh20 You’re thinking of the Jet Li film “Fist of Legend” which is a remake of “Fist of Fury” starring Bruce Lee.
Ironically, Li portrayed Huo Yuanjia in the film “Fearless”, which is the life story of the master his character and Bruce Lee’s character avenge in the two aforementioned films.
“IP Man” with Donnie Yen is also about the life of Huo Yuanjia, who was a real person.
“Chen Zhen” is a fictional character, though.
These are all films involving Huo Yuanjia. They aren’t “copies”
is it me or does this remind u of that mmovie with jetli in it lol they tottaly cpoy each other idk which 1 did it but is sooooooo easy to tell
@unitedvibes fuck u
The movie was a very amazing movie, it is personally my favourite movie. Donnie Yen did an amazing job in both the first and second movie! i am hoping for a 3rd movie.
General, “Hey, what’s your name?”
Ip Man, “I am just a Chinaman”
I haven’t seen the film but I got the feeling that it icontains nationalistic elements. Can anyone who has seen it tell me if this has any nationalistic plot, maybe even pro socialist plot?
@S1587915G no SenseofTouch is talking crap. Kung Fu DOESN’T have anything to do with martial arts in a physical context. A karateka, a joduka, and an aikidoka can have ‘kung fu.’ It just means to master after years of practice.
@justlegal21 Yip Man was yes, but the guy portraying him is hardly using any wing chun, he’s using a form of wushu.
@KurtCobain198666 well yea the 10 men fight was probably just to give more action to the movie, but one thing is for sure, this man was a real Wing Chun Master.
@luicho0303 karate isn’t kung fu, neither is wing chun or any fighting. Originally kung fu meant to master after years of practice. A doctor has kung fu, an artist has kung fu etc. The correct word for chinese martial arts is ‘wushu’. I had this discussion on here last week, and proved myself right, so google ‘kung fu’ first.
this movie is the shit`!
@KurtCobain198666
he’s the first one to master / be pro with wing chun
GAY. You want a real fighting movie watch Heart of a dragon. i think thats what its called….lol
Donnie Yen and Sammo Hung cannot fail when paired together. History has shown this.
If I’m not mistaken, in one of the Ip Man films there’s an a**hole who wears a hat with a big RED STAR on it.
@TheSenseofTouch
So wrestling is kung fu, too?
@MrAitAliProductions lol…. you can say that again
@champion1642 i know
saw the film, but i got to admit those slaps = beautiful hahahaa
@MrAitAliProductions he was slapping instead of actually punching cos it was a sparing round
